Garamba Mountain!
Garamba Mountain is the highest peak
of the region standing at 3232 meters
asl. It rises from a base elevation of
approximately 3000 meters to a peak
elevation of about 3368 meters asl. It is
located at 86 km from Hawaasa city and
at about 250 km from Addis Ababa city
respectively and serves as the source
of several major rivers including
Gidabo, Galana nad Genale river, as well
as of several water springs. The
mountain offers diverse flora and fauna,
spectacular landscapes, and
opportunities for trekking, hiking, and
birdwatching. On clear days, visitors
can see Tullu Dimtu, Ethiopia’s second-
highest peak, located in Bale Mountains
National Park. The site is included in the
SCTSB website and it is regularly visited
by domestic and international tourists.#Accessibility
The site is accessible via an unsurfaced
road in good condition, with additional
access via an easy footpath.Location
